The choice of the Hino 700 FY 10×4 was an easy one for Les Harrison Transport, thanks to their long-standing relationship with the brand. Known for its durability and performance, the Hino chassis serves as the perfect foundation for this powerhouse build.
On top of this robust platform sits the Palfinger PK92002SH crane, selected for its proven reliability and impressive lifting capabilities. Les Harrison Transport has consistently relied on Palfinger cranes for their fleet, and the addition of the fly jib further enhances the versatility of this setup.
Announcing the Largest Lift and Carry Truck in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty
Les Harrison Transport is excited to announce the arrival of the biggest lift-and-carry truck-mounted crane in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions—their new tri-drive, 10-wheeler, front truck-mounted PK 92002 SH crane.
With 8 extensions on the main boom and an optional fly jib attachment, this crane will allow Les Harrison Transport to lift heavier and reach further than ever before. The crane boasts an impressive 15,000kg lift capacity when lifting beside the vehicle and up to 680kg out to 33 meters, significantly enhancing the company’s ability to handle more complex and demanding jobs.
A Versatile Crane for Various Industries
This powerful crane is designed for a variety of heavy-lifting tasks. Les Harrison Transport will use it for power board work, including poles, line work, and substation work, along with handling structural steel, frames and trusses, cabins, swimming pools, roofing, septic and water tanks, generators, containers, and more.
The crane will be especially valuable for on-site lifting, eliminating the need for tandem lifts and increasing efficiency and safety.
Built with Precision
The truck-crane combination was expertly built by Foremost Engineering, with Les Harrison Transport playing an active role in the design process to ensure their specific needs were met. “Quality is pretty good as we have a good relationship with Steve at Foremost and have input into the build”, shared Shane Gill from Les Harrison Transport.
After the build was complete, the truck was sent to Palfinger NZ’s Wiri branch, where the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and HPSC setup were finalised a few weeks ago. This meticulous process ensures the crane is ready to deliver top-notch performance from day one.
Reliability That Lasts
For Les Harrison Transport, reliability is key. Both Hino trucks and Palfinger cranes have consistently delivered exceptional service life, making them essential components of their fleet. “They have been very reliable, and we are getting a good service life from both,” explained Shane Gill.
